Matt Edwards, MA ARCO AMusTCL LTCL
Organist and Director of Music
Matt joined Bothwell in August 2020 with the starting of public worship after the period of lockdown. Matt was Organ Scholar at Peterborough Cathedral before moving to Scotland as Organist and Master of the Choristers at Dundee Cathedral - the youngest person in the UK to hold such a senior post at just 21. He moved to us after holding posts throughout Central Scotland, including seven years as Director of Music at Thomas Coats Memorial Church in Paisley, the "Baptist Cathedral" of Europe, where he instigated a concert programme, outreach events and recorded four CD's. More recently Matt was organist at St. Michael's in Linlithgow, working with their adult choir and music ensembles to enhance their two Sunday services; and starting an afternoon concert series that attracted hundreds of keen listeners over the summer months. He holds five Open University degrees and performance diplomas from Trinity College of Music and The Royal College of Organists. Matt is a keen writer and a perpetual student.
